Chambers saves it for Drogs

Drogheda United 2 Dundalk 2

Drogheda United 2 Dundalk 2

James Chambers was the Drogheda hero for the second week running with a brace of goal, the second a last minute equaliser, in a thrilling Louth derby.

Having scored a stoppage time winner at Bray last week, midfielder Chambers hit the ground running again to put relegation-threatened Drogheda in front on ten minutes with a terrific free-kick.

Before a packed United Park, Ger Rowe levelled for Dundalk within three minutes when heading home a Chris Turner corner.

Darren Mansaram then put Dundalk in front in the final minute of the first half from Rowe's clever touch.

The game appeared to turn on a red card for Dundalk midfielder Michael Daly on 58 minutes for a challenge on Conor Kenna.

Chambers then equalised for Drogheda right on 90 minutes, shooting home off the underside of the crossbar.
