Madden puts Bohs back on top
Derry City 0 Bohemians 1
Paddy Madden’s first Premier League goal of his career moved champions Bohemians back top of the Premier Division table following a cracking game at the Brandywell.
Tam McManus and Mark Farren twice wasted chances before Bohs took the lead with their first real attack on 18 minutes.
Killian Brennan pounced on a loose ball in midfield to press forward and lay the ball off to Madden who shot past Ger Doherty from 12 yards.
McManus, set up by Liam Kearney, then brought a super save from Brian Murphy before half-time.
In a terrific game, Madden was guilty of perhaps the miss of the season on 58 minutes when he latched onto a Jason Byrne flick and rounded Doherty only to allow the ball trickle past the post with the goal gaping.
The win puts Bohs back a point clear of Shamrock Rovers at the top ahead of Friday's mouthwatering trip to Tallaght Stadium.
