Stoke manager Tony Pulis fielded a completely different team to the one that drew with Bolton for his side’s Carling Cup third-round match against Blackpool.

Uruguay midfielder Diego Arismendi, a £2.75m buy from Nacional, was handed his debut after impressing in two reserve games.
