Sunderland reject Nosworthy offer

Sunderland have rejected a bid from Portsmouth for defender Nyron Nosworthy.

The Hampshire side are in the market for a defender, with 31-year-old Sylvain Distin set to complete a move to Everton.

However, Sunderland were unimpressed by Pompey’s valuation of 28-year-old Nosworthy – a free transfer signing from Gillingham four years ago.
