Dunne: We will be better against Cyprus

Richard Dunne has said the Republic of Ireland will be a different prospect in September from the one that lost to the Socceroos last night.

“Come September we will be ready for the World Cup qualifier. I am sure the spirit and the attitude will be different in September,” said Dunne.

“We never started in the first half, second half we gave it a go. They got the goal towards the end and the result looks even more emphatic.”

The Man City defender said: "It’s disappointing to lose the game, but I think until the real stuff starts on Saturday it’s all about getting sharpness. As the game was going on, you could see the improvement in the players.”
