Rovers keep pressure on Bohs with win over Derry

First half goals from Sean O’Connor and Tadhg Purcell maintained Rovers’ terrific run to move them to within three points of leaders Bohemains.
Rovers took the lead on seven minutes with a terrific goal from in-form winger O’Connor.
Collecting Ollie Cahill’s throw, O’Connor wriggled free and beat Ger Doherty with a fine shot.
Though Derry were well in the game, they fell further behind on 25 minutes.
Dessie Baker put in a good cross from the right and Tadhg Purcell headed home.
Derry were right back in the match within 30 seconds of the restart when Tam McManus volleyed past Barry Murphy.
Defender Steven Gray had a terrific chance to level the game on 80 minutes but headed straight at Murphy.
