Coyle hopes for Guerrero deal

Burnley manager Owen Coyle has not given up hope of signing Ecuador winger Fernando Guerrero.

Burnley manager Owen Coyle has not given up hope of signing Ecuador winger Fernando Guerrero.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a successful trial with the Clarets on their recent tour of America but the former Real Madrid reserve team player has now returned to Independiente del Valle.

Coyle will have discussions with the Ecuador club but the stumbling block may be their reported £2m valuation.

“He’s gone back to his club, but I’m back at Burnley and will have dialogue with them,” Coyle told the Lancashire Telegraph.

“He’s their player so it’s something I need to take up with them.”
