Struggling Cork grab draw at Brandywell
Derry City 1 Cork City 1
Cork left the Brandywell fuming with Dublin referee Richie Winter who deprived them of a what they felt a clear-cut last minute penalty.
Derry midfielder Barry Molloy certainly appeared to foul Cork winger Billy Dennehy inside the area, but Winter waved play on.
Derry led from the final minute of the first half when Cork skipper Dan Murray deflected Ger O’Brien’s left wing cross into his own net.
But Cork levelled within six minutes of the restart when half-time substitute Shane Duggan drilled home Neal Horgan’s cross from the right for his first goal of the season.
