Middlesbrough have confirmed they have accepted an undisclosed bid from Aston Villa for England winger Stewart Downing.

Middlesbrough have confirmed they have accepted an undisclosed bid from Aston Villa for England winger Stewart Downing.

The fee, understood to be in the region of £12m, was agreed yesterday, and Downing is now heading for Villa’s training ground to begin talks and undergo a medical.
