Stalemate at Tallaght Stadium

Shamrock Rovers 1 Drogheda United 1

Conor Kenna earned Drogheda a deserved replay as they came from behind at Tallaght Stadium tonight.

Rovers dominated the first half but only had Sean O’Connor’s sublime chipped goal from 25 yards to show for their efforts at the break.

Drogheda were revitalised in the second half and levelled on 58 minutes.

Captain and man-of-the-match Conor Kenna got free in the box to meet Robbie Clarke’s free-kick and score with a diving header.

Rovers finished with 10 men when substitute Pat Flynn was sent off for violent conduct following a clash with Paul Shiels, while assistant manager Trevor Croly was also then sent from the dugout for disputing the decision.
