Six-goal Derry ease into next round
Derry City 6 Ballymun United 0
Substitute Liam Nash scored a brilliant hat-trick inside four minutes as Derry eased past the challenge of non-league Ballymun.
A Liam Byrne own goal gifted Derry the lead to break the Dublin side’s resolve a minute before half-time.
Defender Mark McChrystal put Derry 2-0 up just before the hour mark and they never looked back.
It was then about Nash, who came on in the 78th minute. Within three minutes he’d made it 3-0.
A minute later he added another before completing his remarkable hat-trick on 85 minutes.
David Scullion added Derry’s sixth goal three minutes from time.
