St Patrick’s Athletic v Bohemians

Saints midfielder Alan Cawley remains out of action as St Patrick’s Athletic welcome Bohemians to Richmond Park tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

Darragh Ryan (hamstring) and Gareth O’Connor (thigh strain) both picked up injuries against Derry during the week and are expected to join Cawley (ankle), Gints Freimans (knee), Gary Dempsey (leg) and Mark Leech (leg) on the sidelines.

John Lester returns having served his one-match suspension but Stuart Byrne is suspended.

Bobby Ryan is expected to make his return and to play a part in the match.

Saints boss Jeff Kenna said: “Bohs’ victory in Cork last Friday and again this week against Galway silenced the doubters who thought they were beginning to show a few weaknesses and my players have their work cut out.

“But football people relish these matches and we’re no different. We’re looking forward to it and we intend to meet the challenge head on.”

Bohs boss Pat Fenlon has his own injury concerns ahead of the game.

Mark Rossiter remains out with a groin injury, while Joseph Ndo misses out with a hamstring problem.

Glen Crowe and Owen Heary have both returned to training following hamstring injuries and Fenlon hopes to have both available for selection.

Jason McGuinness remains out as he is still suspended.

Fenlon said: “It’s going to be a tough game. Going to Inchicore is never easy. Jeff [Kenna] has had a horrible time with injuries but they have got some very decent players.”
