Heary a doubt for Bohs
Owen Heary is a doubt for Bohemians as they travel south to face league leaders Cork City at Turner’s Cross tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
Bohemians boss Pat Fenlon must plan without injured pair Mark Rossiter and Glen Crowe, while centre-half Jason McGuinness also misses out as he is serving a suspension.
Fenlon said: “It’s a good place to go and play football, with a big crowd, two good teams and we always look forward to going there. It’s a big game and we’ll definitely be looking for something from the game.”
Neal Horgan returns to the City squad after recovering from an elbow injury, while Stephen O’Donnell returns from a one-game ban.
Pat Sullivan misses the tie through suspension and Shane Duggan, Robert Mezeckis and Davin O’Neill are all missing through injury.
City manager Paul Doolin said: “I just want to concentrate on ourselves. We have encountered some difficulties, but to produce the sort of run that we have is really excellent. There is a long way to go, but to have secured 28 points out of a possible 30 is really fantastic.”
He added: “There is nothing better for the players than a big crowd cheering the team on. You could see the difference against Derry when we had over 4,000 people in the ground, the atmosphere was excellent and it really added to the occasion.
“I would hope that we get an even bigger crowd against Bohemians on Friday, as it would give everyone a big lift. Neither team will win or lose the league tomorrow night, but it is great to have a big game like this to look forward to.”
