Liverpool fans seem set for another summer of uncertainty surrounding midfielder Xabi Alonso.

A year ago, Alonso seemed to be on his way out of Anfield as boss Rafael Benitez tried to raise money for the purchase of Gareth Barry from Aston Villa.
