Late winner keeps Bohs in title race

Young substitute Marc Hughes scored a dramatic injury time winner to get champions Bohs out of jail against bottom-of-the-table Drogheda.

Steve Williams had made good stops to deprive both Jason Byrne and then Neale Fenn.

But Drogheda, despite having midfielder Paul Crowley sent off for a dreadful tackle on Byrne on 88 minutes, looked like they’d hold out for a point.

Hughes, on for Fenn, had other ideas, however, and he met Paul Keegan’s 95th minute free-kick in a crowded box to head home a timely first league goal of his career.
