Drogheda got their first goals of the season tonight in a thrilling clash with Shamrock Rovers who needed a late equaliser to avoid a third defeat on the spin.
Gary Twigg’s second goal of the season put Rovers in front on 20 minutes.
However, Drogheda rallied in the second half and were level through midfielder Paul Shiels on 47 minutes.
Striker Robbie Farrell then fired Drogheda in front on 73 minutes.
But Rovers responded five minutes from time with substitute Padraig Amond heading home to salvage a point.
