Leon Andreasen put the home side in front after 31 minutes and Soren Larsen effectively sealed the win just six minutes later.

Christian Poulsen completed a comfortable victory 10 minutes from time.

Hungary had earlier kept up the pressure on Denmark with a 3-0 win of their own against Malta at the Ferenc Puskas Stadium.

Borussia Dortmund forward Tamas Hajnal gave the hosts an early lead with a wicked free-kick and Fulham winger Zoltan Gera came off the bench to double it 10 minutes from time.

Roland Juhasz headed a third in injury time.
