Everton player 'awaits apology' after police action

A Premier League footballer looking in a jeweller’s window was swooped on by police who thought the star was preparing a burglary.

Directed by CCTV operators, officers rushed to the scene in Knutsford, Cheshire, and began a “heated dialogue” with Everton’s Victor Anichebe and his friend.
