Alonso urges caution over Gerrard

Xabi Alonso will be banned from Liverpool’s home clash with Manchester City on Sunday, and does not want to see Steven Gerrard involved in the match either unless he is 100% fit.

Gerrard has been out for almost three weeks with a hamstring injury, and his original return date was for next Wednesday’s Champions League clash away to Real Madrid.
