Chief executive of the Professional Footballers’ Association Gordon Taylor has warned that Manchester City’s “stratospheric” bid to sign Kaka from AC Milan may have dire consequences for the club.

Milan and City are in discussions over the transfer of the Brazilian playmaker for a world-record fee reported to be in the region of £108m.
