Ancellotti hints at Kaka exit
AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted for the first time Kaka may not remain at the club and could move to Manchester City.
The Milan hierarchy have not made an official declaration on Kakaâs status with the Rossoneri but Ancelotti said this afternoon at the clubâs press conference ahead of Saturdayâs game against Fiorentina: âI believe there is a negotiation ongoing and hence, itâs something the club will have to evaluate with the player.
âMy hope is that I can coach Kaka for many more years but we have to look at what the club evaluates regarding an offer that has been presented.
âItâs normal that regarding the player there is a lot of importance placed for his role that he has at Milan.
âThe stories change, you cannot think of the football of 20 years ago, in football great investors are entering and itâs normal and right to evaluate it in this way.
âThe aims remain the same for the team, with or without Kaka.â
City have reportedly made a ÂŁ108m (âŹ120m) offer for Kaka.
The 26-year-old midfielder is under contract until the end of the 2012-13 campaign, and said this week he wanted to remain with Milan for a very long time.
Real Madrid and Chelsea previously failed with bids to prise the Brazil international from the Rossoneri.
But Milan appear to be weighing up an offer that could be too good to turn down.
Yesterday, the director of AC Milan's television channel, Mario Suma, claimed the club were pondering an offer for the Brazilian from Manchester City but to date, the club officials have remained tight-lipped on the player's future.
Kaka expressed his hope that he âwould grow oldâ at the club in an interview on Wednesday but also conceded that âI reiterate what I have always said, they (City) can make the offer they want to make but it will depend on Milan.
âWhat happens will be decided by Milan.â
Ancelotti says Kakaâs situation will not destabilise the team this weekend when they face Fiorentina in a hugely important game.
âKaka is professional,â he said. "We need a great performance from him against the Viola.
âI donât think the team will be conditioned. The team is experiencing this situation from a distance.
âThere is some movement, we need to be calm, we need to be focused in a game that has a lot of importance in our future.
âWe cannot be too alarmed. I know what the fans are thinking but they have to be brave.â
