Defoe set for 'debut'

Jermain Defoe goes straight into the Tottenham squad to face Wigan in the Premier League after completing his move from Portsmouth.

Darren Bent (groin), Tom Huddlestone (ankle) and David Bentley (illness) have been training, Jermaine Jenas is back from suspension but Benoit Assou-Ekotto is still banned, joining Alan Hutton (knee) on the sidelines.

Skipper Ledley King (knee) has been rested this week and is in the frame to play.
