England defender Glen Johnson makes his comeback from an ankle injury as Portsmouth bid to end their five-match winless run at home to big-spending Manchester City.

Johnson, who has missed Portsmouth’s last six games, will replace England under-21 right-back Martin Cranie after resuming full training this week.

Papa Bouba Diop (knee), Richard Hughes (hamstring) and Jerome Thomas (back) remain sidelined while manager Tony Adams will again name Peter Crouch as a lone striker.
