Hibs sign Polish keeper

Hibernian today announced goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski has agreed to join the club until the end of the season.

The former Dundee United star, 32, will complete his free transfer once Hibs secure international clearance.

Szamotulski is one of a number of keepers manager Mixu Paatelainen has taken on trial this season and it appeared the Finn’s search would go on when he claimed last month he had been unable to agree a contract with the Pole.

But it appears any issues there were have been resolved, with Szamotulski now expected to challenge Yves Ma-Kalambay for the number one jersey at Easter Road.
