Adam replaces Lafferty for Rangers
Charlie Adam replaced Kyle Lafferty on the left-hand side of the Rangers midfield for today’s Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Celtic at Ibrox, the only change in manager Walter Smith’s line-up from the home win over Hibernian last week.
Skipper Stephen McManus returned to the heart of the Celtic defence at the expense of Darren O’Dea after missing last week’s win at Falkirk with a knee injury.
Glenn Loovens was also dropped to the bench, with Gary Caldwell returning to his regular place in defence as manager Gordon Strachan reshuffled his midfield. Koki Mizuno, who scored in his first start for the champions at Falkirk, surprisingly kept his place ahead of fellow Japanese midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura who was out altogether.
Barry Robson returned from a thigh injury and Paul Hartley came back after recovering from a virus.
