City pair face fitness checks

Manchester City will check on the fitness of Micah Richards and Felipe Caicedo ahead of tomorrow’s Barclays Premier League trip to Blackburn.

Defender Richards (hamstring) and two-goal striker Caicedo (calf) were both substituted during yesterday’s 5-1 win over Hull as precautionary measures after experiencing tightness.

Forwards Darius Vassell and Daniel Sturridge are in contention after overcoming knocks to take their places on the bench against Hull. However Benjani Mwaruwari will be “out for a significant number of weeks” according to boss Mark Hughes after rupturing a thigh muscle for the second time this season.
