Midfielder Armand Traore is a doubt after being replaced during Wednesday’s UEFA Cup win over Heerenveen with a hamstring problem.

Adams made six changes for the Heerenveen game and England internationals David James, Sol Campbell, Glen Johnson and Jermain Defoe are all in line for a return to the side.

Lassana Diarra is unlikely to feature after Portsmouth accepted a bid for the French midfielder from Real Madrid.

Provisional squad: James; Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Belhadj, Little, Davis, Diop, Kranjcar, Crouch, Defoe, A Traore, Kanu, Pamarot, Hughes, Mvuemba, Nugent, Thomas, Hreidarsson, Ashdown.
