Ram-raiders attack gates of Pennant's home
Police have launched an investigation after the gates of a Premiership footballer’s home were damaged, reportedly by ram-raiders, it was revealed today.
Liverpool midfielder Jermaine Pennant and girlfriend Amii Grove were at the house in Cheshire when the gates to the property were damaged yesterday morning.
Ram-raiders hit the gates of the mansion before stopping in front of the property in an attempt to steal his cars, according to the Daily Mirror.
The men were disturbed when Pennant, 25, went downstairs, the paper said.
Neither Pennant nor Ms Grove were injured.
A spokeswoman for Cheshire Police could not confirm the details in the newspaper’s report but said: “At 1.40am on December 1 police were informed of an incident of criminal damage at a property on Hale Road, Hale, Widnes.”
Police said officers were not treating the damage as an attempted robbery or attempted theft.
