Hull trail to Ireland brace at half time

Stephen Ireland scored twice to hand Manchester City a slender 2-1 lead against Hull in a first half characterised by two horrendous defensive blunders.

Tal Ben-Haim handed Daniel Cousin the easiest of tap-ins after 14 minutes, Hull’s Kamil Zayatte returned the favour for Ireland eight minutes from the interval and the midfielder then curled in a second.
