Cretaro winner keeps Sligo in contention
Sligo Rovers 2 Shamrock Rovers 1
Rafael Cretaro scored the winner in the battle of the Rovers at the Showgrounds tonight to keep Sligo in the hunt for Europe and Setanta Sports Cup qualification.
Eoin Doyle's sublime volley from 25 yards fired Shamrock in front on 48 minutes.
But Sligo levelled six minutes later when Sean Doherty confidently shot home a penalty after Doyle had hauled down Cretaro.
Cretaro, surely Sligo's player of the season, won it on 73 minutes when picking himself up off the ground to shoot home after Seamus Coleman's cross was deflected to him.
