Injury worries for Rovers ahead of Sligo clash
Sligo Rovers take on Shamrock Rovers at the Showgrounds in Saturday’s Premier Division clash, kick-off 8.00pm.
The Hoops travel to the northwest looking to finish off their campaign on a high note ahead of their move to their new stadium in Tallaght next season.
Rovers must plan without Eric McGill (ligament) and Darren Stapleton (cartilage), while Darragh Maguire is suspended.
John Martin (hip) is being rested. And there are fitness doubts about both Aidan Price (hip) and Stephen Rice (hamstring).
"We’re down to the bare bones," said Rovers’ boss Jim Crawford. "We’re giving Aidan and Stephen every chance to pull through before deciding on the team.
"John Martin, I feel, came back too soon after his hip operation, so he’s being rested. On the positive side, Tadhg Purcell is fit and ready and will definitely feature against Sligo.
"I’ve also introduced some lads from the A team to first team training. They’ve done really well and I wouldn’t hesitate to give them an opportunity against Sligo Rovers."
Sligo boss Paul Cook must again plan without Chris Butler who is out for the rest of the season after suffering serious leg injuries in a car crash.
Gavin Peers will also miss out due to suspension.
