Drogs may look to younger players to fill gap
Cork City welcome champions Drogheda United to Turner’s Cross for this eircom League of Ireland Premier Division clash, kick-off 7.45pm.
City’s injury list has eased somewhat in recent weeks, but boss Alan Mathews will still be without Denis Behan and Colin Healy, who are both suffering from shoulder injuries, while Cillian Lordan is also set to miss out as he recovers from a knee injury.
For Drogheda, boss Paul Doolin has a long line of injuries and may be forced to call on some of his younger players.
Goalkeeper Dan Connor is out, as is Brian Shelley, while Shaun Maher is a doubt and Joe Kendrick is suspended.
In midfield, Adam Hughes is also suspended following his red card against Bohemians last week.
He'll be joined on the sidelines by Richie Baker and Guy Bates, both of whom are struggling with injuries.
