Motherwell lead battle against 'pricey' football

Motherwell are “taking the lead” to help cut prices in Scottish football by reducing entrance for Old Firm fixtures to £15 (€19.21) for all adults at Fir Park.

The reduction for Rangers and Celtic matches is a £10 (€12.81) saving for most fans, and U12s will be admitted free with adults and juvenile season-ticket holders to all other Clydesdale Bank Premier League games.

Adults will be charged just £10 (€12.81) to sit in the South Stand for matches against Kilmarnock, Inverness, Dundee United, Falkirk and St Mirren.

Motherwell chief executive Ian Stillie, who will form a committee with fans to look at season ticket prices, said: “Football in Scotland has become too pricey, particularly for families.

“Motherwell Football Club has taken the lead on the issue, and we would encourage our SPL partners to reciprocate the changes – not only for our fans but for their own supporters.”
