Quigley named player of the month

Mark Quigley has been named the eircom League player of the month for August.

It is the first time The St Patrick's Athletic striker has won the award.

Quigley was a key part of the Saints ' UEFA Cup success over Elfsborg.

He was man of the match in the first leg in Sweden and scored a penalty spot to start the a comeback in a 2-2 draw for the Dubliners.

St Pats take on Hertha Berlin in the first leg of the UEFA Cup proper in Germany tomorrow night.
