Striker Karl Moore has been called into the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad ahead of the UEFA Under-21 European Championship qualifier against Portugal next Tuesday.

The Manchester City forward replaces Keith Treacy, who is suspended for the match against Portugal. Treacy picked up a yellow card during last Friday’s defeat to Bulgaria, which rules him out of Tuesday’s match.

The rest of the Under-21 squad arrived in Madeira last night and will be joined later today by midfielder James McCarthy and defender Michael Spillane, both of whom were named in the original 18-man squad but missed the match in Sofia.
