Republic rise three places in world rankings

Giovanni Trappatoni's Republic of Ireland team are up three to 38th in the FIFA world rankings.

Northern Ireland stay 32nd, England have fallen a place to 15th - just one spot ahead of Scotland, whose position remains unchanged from last month - with Wales dropping two to 53rd.

European champions Spain stay at the top of the rankings but Italy have replaced Germany as the number two-ranked nation.
