Nesta left out of Milan UEFA squad

Defender Alessandro Nesta has been left out of AC Milan’s squad for the UEFA Cup.

Coach Carlo Ancelotti has chosen 10 defenders in the 25-man roster, including veteran captain Paolo Maldini, but Nesta is not among them.

The 32-year-old has struggled with injury in recent campaigns, and is recovering from a back problem.

Playmaker Kaka, who is recovering from knee surgery, is included.

The Rossoneri take on FC Zurich in the first round of the European competition.
