Bohemians finished with just nine men, but still had enough to win and open up a ten-point lead at the top of the Premier Division table.

Gary Deegan made a bright return to his former stomping ground to give Bohs a seventh minute lead, stabbing home John Paul Kelly's cross.

Galway hit back with six corners and two penalty shouts that were waved away by referee Richie Winter before Bohs stung them with a second goal against the run of play on 41 minutes.

Mark Rossiter picked out Lithuanian international Mindaugas Kalonas who shot to the net.

Bohs had Anto Murphy sent off for a second booking on 52 minutes with Galwayman Stephen O'Donnell also dismissed for a second yellow card in the 68th minute.
