Kaka 'could still join Chelsea'

Brazil superstar Kaka could still join Chelsea before the end of the month, according to the player’s agent.

The Blues are reported to have offered AC Milan a record-breaking fee for the playmaker, although the English club deny having made any bid for the world player of the year.

Kaka was last month said to be keen on a switch to Stamford Bridge but Milan’s apparent refusal to contemplate letting their star man leave appeared to kill off any hope of a deal.

But the player’s personal assistant Diogo Kotscho is confident the 26-year-old could still seal a transfer to England by the end of the current transfer window.

“We know that the clubs are talking about the transfer, although they have not reached a conclusion yet,” he said.

“I think an August transfer is still a possibility, though Kaka will only talk about that when they do a deal.

“He is waiting for a deal and then he will start to negotiate with Chelsea.”

He added in The Observer: “Normally, Milan do not sell their best players. We think they like the proposal, but it is not so easy for them to accept it. For now we must just wait and see.”
