FAI Ford Cup final confirmed for RDS

The Football Association of Ireland have confirmed the RDS as the venue for the 2008 FAI Ford Cup final.

The final of this year’s competition will be held on Sunday, November 23.

The FAI Ford Cup final was held in the RDS for the first time last season, when Cork City lifted the trophy after defeating Longford Town 1-0.

Director of the eircom League of Ireland, Fran Gavin, said that the Dublin 4 venue is the ideal place to host the FAI Ford Cup final.

Mr Gavin said: "We are delighted to confirm that the 2008 FAI Ford Cup final will be held in the RDS.

"The RDS is a great venue and we look forward to making this year’s final a showpiece worthy of concluding what has been a terrifically entertaining season."

The 2008 FAI Ford Cup Fourth Round will begin this Friday, August 15.
