Spurs continue red-hot form
Tottenham 3 Borussia Dortmund 0
Darren Bent's impressive pre-season form continued as he helped Tottenham beat Borussia Dortmund to win the Feyenoord Jubileum Tournament at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam.
The 24-year-old striker broke the deadlock in the ninth minute with the first real chance of the game after Jermaine Jenas had dribbled past three defenders.
Former Charlton frontman Bent collected the ball in the penalty area and turned before drilling a low shot past Dortmund goalkeeper Marc Ziegler to claim his 10th goal in five pre-season matches.
Jenas was also involved in the second goal in the 55th minute when he broke from midfield and slid a through-ball for Brazilian Giovani who dinked the ball into the bottom-left corner of the net.
Tottenham scored their third goal with four minutes remaining after a swift counter-attack led by right-back Adam Smith.
The 17-year-old defender broke down the right flank and delivered a low cross for Jamie O'Hara who slotted the ball home from close range.
