Kelly leads Bohs to victory over Cobh

Inspired by a man-of-the-match display from John Paul Kelly, Bohemians moved four points clear at the top of the Premier Divisioin table with a game in hand as they dismissed bottom of the table Cobh at Dalymount Park.

Only a terrific one-handed save from Cobh keeper James McCarthy, who clawed away Anto Murphy's header from Killian Brennan's corner on 27 minutes, kept the scoresheet blank at the interval.

But Bohs struck for the lead within a minute of the restart when substitute Kelly, though shepherded by Cobh skipper Alan Carey, managed to shoot to the net from a very tight angle.

Brennan rattled home a penalty, following a foul by John Meade on Kelly, to double Bohs' lead on 78 minutes.

Kelly then set up Jason Byrne to score the third seven minutes from time.
