Cork crash out of UEFA Cup

FC Haka 4 Cork City 0 (Haka won 6-2 on aggregate)

Cork City slumped to their biggest defeat in Europe since 1994 as they were totally outplayed in Valkiaekoski, Finland, to bow out of the UEFA Cup.

To add to Cork's woes they had striker Denis Behan sent off late on.

It all went horribly wrong for Alan Mathews' side early on and they were 2-0 down after just 15 minutes.

Jan Malakarrtto shot Haka ahead on ten minutes before the best player on pitch, Valeri Popovitch, chipped a delightful second five minutes later.

Mikko Manninen added the third from close range to kill the tie on 69 minutes.

A free-kick from Valerie Minkinen completed the rout on 77 minutes with striker Behan being sent off for dissent three minutes later.
