Manager Martin O’Neill has admitted that Liverpool target Gareth Barry could play some part in the second leg of Aston Villa’s Intertoto Cup third round tie with Odense at Villa Park tomorrow.

Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill has admitted that Liverpool target Gareth Barry could play some part in the second leg of their Intertoto Cup third round tie with Odense at Villa Park tomorrow.

Barry is short of fitness following his two-week suspension and suffered a slight foot injury against Walsall in his first outing for the club since he publicly expressed his desire to join the Reds.

Marlon Harewood is the only fresh absentee for the tie which sees Villa level at 2-2 after the first leg.

The striker is nursing a sore knee sustained during the midweek pre-season friendly at Walsall.
