Scan to decide Bosingwa fate
Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari expects to learn more about the injury status of Portugal defender Jose Bosingwa later on Thursday.
The 25-year-old played just 20 minutes of his Chelsea debut Wednesday as the Blues kicked off their pre-season tour of Asia and Russia with a 4-0 win over Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Pharmaceutical.
Chelsea initially insisted Bosingwa was withdrawn as a precautionary measure after complaining of a minor thigh problem, but it was later revealed he would undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.
After arriving in Macau ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Chinese top-flight side Chengdu Blades, Scolari was still awaiting news about the fitness of the former Porto defender.
“The doctor will see him later today and then we will have more details about whether he will stay with us until we return to London at the end of the tour or will return home now,” said Scolari.
“We will have more details later today or tonight and then we will decide what is best.”
