Sligo put their cash flow problems behind them - for 90 minutes at least - to record their biggest win of the season as hapless Harps finished with 10 men as they dropped back into the eircom League relegation zone.

Rovers started superbly and were a goal up after seven minutes when Gavin Peers met Sean Doherty's cross to head home his first league goal for the club.

Chris Butler's long throw found Gary Curran who stole in to drill to the net from close range to make it 2-0 on 19 minutes.

In a thrilling game, man-of-the-match Curran hit a post four minutes later after a great run and cross down the left by Doherty.

Harps' hopes were not helped two minutes before half time when striker Stephen Parkhouse, booked for a foul on Curran, threw the ball to the ground in frustration and was immediately sent off by Dublin referee Neil Doyle.

A terrific solo goal by Benin international Romu Boco made it 3-0 on 53 minutes before a lovely finish from Rafael Cretaro completed the rout 16 minutes from time.

Shaun McGowan headed Harps' consolation goal from Austin Friel's cross on 89 minutes.
