Sunderland expect striker Kenwyne Jones to undergo a scan today on the knee injury suffered while playing for Trinidad and Tobago against England yesterday.

Jones was taken off just 11 minutes into last night’s 3-0 friendly defeat by Fabio Capello’s side after colliding with goalkeeper David James.

And the Black Cats have confirmed on their website – www.safc.com – that their medical department are liaising with their Trinidad and Tobago counterparts, revealing Jones is “expected to undergo a scan in Trinidad later today”.
