Graham Cummins earned Cobh their first away win of the season in tonight's basement battle at Terryland Park.

Cobh had the perfect start with what would prove the only goal after just 90 seconds.

Skipper Alan Carey's cross in from the right was flicked on by John Kearney and striker Cummins shot home from 12 yards.

In a poor game, Galway almost levelled on 26 minutes, but Mark Leech's shot was well saved by Anthony Fennelly.

Leech was guilty of another miss on 87 when blazing over the bar as Cobh held on for a morale-boosting victory.
