Fowler misses out on FA Cup final place
There is no place for Robbie Fowler on the Cardiff bench for today’s FA Cup final against Portsmouth at Wembley.
Fowler, a winner of the competition with Liverpool in 2001, has been left out of the 16-man squad as Dave Jones names the same side which defeated Barnsley a fortnight ago, while 17-year-old prodigy Aaron Ramsey is named among the Bluebirds’ substitutes.
David James, Sol Campbell and Sulley Muntari all return to Pompey’s starting line-up, with boss Harry Redknapp opting to play Kanu alone up front.
Portsmouth: James, Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Hreidarsson, Utaka, Pedro Mendes, Diarra, Muntari, Kranjcar, Kanu.
Subs: Ashdown, Diop, Baros, Nugent, Pamarot.
Cardiff: Enckelman, McNaughton, Johnson, Loovens, Capaldi, Ledley, Rae, McPhail, Whittingham, Parry, Hasselbaink.
Subs: Oakes, Purse, Sinclair, Thompson, Ramsey.
Referee: Mike Dean.
