Champions Drogheda United will be hoping to rein in table-toppers St Patrick's Athletic at United Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

Dan Connor is still out injured for Drogheda, while both Shane Barrett and Declan O'Brien picked up knocks in the last week.

Guy Bates and Shaun Maher are both back training and may feature, although Brian Shelley is a doubt as he is struggling with an injury.

United boss Paul Doolin is confident going into tonight’s game.

He said: "We've been playing really well in recent games, since Cork really, and we need to keep up that level of performance against St Pat's.

“We were very unlucky against Bray not to have won, even without the disallowed goal.

“I think if we can play to that same standard again, we have a great chance. We just need to start putting away those chances."

Joe O'Cearuill is still missing for St Pat's so Noel Haverty should keep his place in the back four.

Joseph Ndo, Jamie Harris, John Frost, David Partridge and Damien Lynch all remain out through injury.

Mark Quigley is struggling with a rib injury but should be fit enough to start.

Saints boss Johnny McDonnell said: "We’re confident of getting something out of the game but it will be difficult.

"United Park is never an easy place to go to and Drogheda no doubt will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat last week to Bray."
